Angela
Angela Colabella is a director/producer, writer, and storyteller from the North Bay Area. She earned her MFA from the Film & Television Production program at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She was a recipient of the George Lucas Family Endowment Scholarship. Angela has explored a variety of artistic mediums from dance to theater to photography - all of which inform her voice and style. Her desire to be a filmmaker was revealed at her undergraduate institution where she consumed non-linear, experimental films and multimedia. Her background in conceptual filmmaking allowed her to cultivate a unique, distinguishable cinematic style. Angela’s work exists within fictional and documentary storytelling as they intersect with folklore, mythology, magical realism, and nuanced representations of women of color.
